A is for...

At one point in my reading of various blogs I came across an idea for posting based on the alphabet. When I discovered it, the deadline had past and I was too late to get in on the action. This year, though, I found it in enough time to participate.

The rules are simple, you post a photo of something that starts with each letter of the alphabet, each letter having a roughly two week period in which to post, that is meaningful to you. Then explain why. The founder of the 2008 ABC-along can be found at her blog, Knitorious.

So, without further ado, I present to you, the letter A (another reason to like this is that it's very Sesame Street like for me and thus pulling in Jim Henson yet again.)

A is for...
Anteater

Ah, yes. The glorious anteater and the way to answer many questions to my family. At least between my siblings and me. If a conversation turns where you don't want it to, just say anteater. And trust me the conversation will turn further down the road of no return.

The anteater answer was generated first by my brother Daniel and I suspect that the answer of anteater brought about other unusual things from my brother as well (barring the fact that he's just strange) such as the penguin brigade as seen back in May for his graduation.

This anteater is even more special as she lived at the SC Aquarium for quite some time (she's moved out now) and enabled me to find a stuffed anteater (within my price range) to present to my brother. I had actually looked for one for several years before success.

So, A is for anteater, a very treasured animal within my world.
