Oh, where does the time go

It's the weekend again. And I am of course off to work. And I'll have another post due to you on Sunday too...

So, I didn't post last weekend because we took a trip to NC for yarn related crafts and had a brief stop in Anderson to drop some things off.

And did we ever have fun. Dawn and I learned to spin (Fredrick watched patiently) and love it. I was in such a fiber induced coma that I only took one picture at the actual festival just after learning to spin. It's of Dawn and Fredrick and our yarn that we spun:

Good times. I have purchased roving to spin after I'm done with holiday presents (of which I will post about on Sunday, at least what I can about them as some people read this that will be recieving things).

We really had a lot of fun at the festival and if timing is good again maybe we can do it next year as well!

We spent the rest of the time enjoying sights and conversation. There were these really cool mushrooms near Tom and Dawns that Fredrick just had to get closer to:

And the pine tree in their yard had some of the tiniest pine cones I've seen (no, I don't know what type of pine tree it is, sorry) and my crafters mind was racing with possibilities of what they could be used for.
The next day we went to Chimney Rock and had a blast.

This is just a view of the mountains in the distance as we drive along.
And a view of the foliage on the way there. Due to drought the colors aren't as dramatic this year.

Chimney Rock from the bottom:
The creek at it's base, at low level due to drought.
The view from the parking area.
They have an elevator you can take and this is the cave leading up to it.
Almost to the top, just outside the cafe and gift shop.
The view of Lake Lure from the top:
And Fredrick enjoyed it to, mostly. You can see it was a little windy in this picture:
And being so windy he hid in my pocket the rest of the time:
This is probably the most beautiful tree we saw as we worked our way back down the mountain.
Yes, we had fun in NC. I even tried some sushi and was surprised at how good it was! I lead a sheltered life sometimes.

So, then we went to Anderson where Fredrick felt neccessary to pester my family:

(There was only a little protest from Dad)

And then we made it back home and are back into the swing of everyday life.

That will do me today, must go nap for work tonight. Talk to you guys Sunday!
