Some things just amaze me...

I meant to post this sooner but am just getting to it today.

Some things just amaze me. Such as the following article that was physically published in my newspaper on Monday:

A Tiny Debt in the U.S. Debt

What??? And my paper even included the information on where to send the check to and such.

What??? I mean first of all this answers the question that I periodically ask people which is who do we owe all this money too - other countries. The answer that I have previously received is that we owe it to ourselves.

Second of all, Congress can just up the limit as they please? Seriously, imagine if all of us were able to do that. "Well really, I'm going to need more money before I can pay you back so if you could just increase my credit card limit to say, oh, $50,000 that would be great and I'll let you know when I am going to pay it and when I need more?" Yea, they'd lock me up in an institution.

I would understand it better if Congress were attempting to put a limit on their spending but their not! They look at the "budget" and approve all the frivolous things, cut many necessary things and off we go to continue to go into debt.

I could see donating to cut the national debt if I didn't already have tax dollars being wasted every day by the government. Until they clean up their act, you can forget me ever considering this.
